7 Day Blues Guitarist

7 Day Blues Guitarist is designed to jumpstart your blues guitar playing! I learned by sitting in with the best - Albert King, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Otis Rush, BB King, Gatemouth Brown, Johnny Winter, Jimmie Vaughan. They all taught me valuable hands-on blues guitar skills that I still use today. I designed this course with these fundamentals in mind. Master these fundamentals and you will be well on your way with your guitar journey. Each lesson builds upon the previous one, creating a complete framework for understanding blues guitar. It will take a lifetime to master. But this 7 day course will break you out of your musical rut and kickstart your blues playing to new heights!

Master the Blues Fundamentals to Take Your Guitar Playing to New Heights

The journey to advancing your blues playing is to master the fundamentals of blues guitar playing. Everyone wants to skip this step and play catchy licks but that kills their development. There are a whole lot of “5-year beginners” because they need to work on these fundamentals.

If You Want to Improvise and Play Lead, You Need to Master these Blues skills

There are a few key “tricks” and concepts that, once internalized, make it easier to sound like a pro on stage.

The good news?

I've outlined a roadmap on how to get there in 7 days of intensive guitar work.

When you learn these fundamentals, everything you’ve ever learned about guitar suddenly will make way more sense.

You don't need advanced techniques. You need to get really good at these essential skills of great blues guitar playing!

Let Me Tell You A Secret…

Buddy Guy never sat around practicing the same lick over and over. He played with other musicians and made sure his licks always worked over the blues progression.

This is what my method teaches. By drilling these skills into your head now, I can make sure you internalize the most important blues tools.

You won’t just know random licks… you’ll know how to take licks and piece them into a blazing blues melody.

If you get on stage without knowing the concepts I want to teach you, you’ll be out of rhythm, won't be able to play over the chord changes, and will forever sound like an amateur.

If you've been stuck and feel like your own playing needs to be taken to the next level, check out what you will learn in this course...

Why This Isn't Just Another Guitar Program

While YouTube videos might show you some of these skills, they don't show you when to use it, why it works, or how to connect it with other techniques to create authentic blues music.

That's the difference between knowing a few tricks and being a real blues guitarist.

Each lesson builds upon the previous one, creating a complete framework for understanding blues guitar—not just memorizing parts of it.

When you learn these blues skills, you'll develop the musical intuition that lets you express yourself authentically, just like the blues legends I've had the privilege to play alongside.

All these important lessons are available in one course so you can finally get that “a-ha moment” and start progressing again.

THIS is how you understand which tools you’re missing, learn them, and then start playing leads like a pro soon after.

But why just 7 days?

Because that’s all the time you need to START doing this right. Guitar will take a lifetime to master. I'm still learning and improving all the time! This course will break you out of your musical rut and kickstart your blues playing to new heights!

In this course, you’re getting MANY lessons worth of invaluable info that you can master and revisit whenever you want to!

Each lesson builds on the previous lesson and is structured to help you make a HUGE AMOUNT of progress in a short period of time.

I'm Jake Andrews, and I've dedicated my life to mastering the blues guitar. Throughout my career, I've had the extraordinary privilege of sharing stages with the true legends of blues—Albert King, B.B. King, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, and Otis Rush. In 2023, I was invited to perform at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival. My unique perspective as a musician and a teacher of 20+ years will jumpstart your blues playing!

Course Testimonials

"This fantastic guitar course really helped my guitar playing. Specifically, it helped me with placement of notes when playing over a 12-bar blues song. Plus, it was really fun! - Ace B.

There are zero degrees of separation between him and some of the greatest blues players of all time. His teaching style is really encouraging - as he says: “Keep pushing.” In the short time that I’ve been working with Jake, I’ve gone from playing licks and short sections of songs, often with no direction, to playing complete songs, from the likes of Freddie King, Albert King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. - Steve P.

More Testimonials

"Now that is a blues masterclass. That guitar has such a thick but biting tone, love it."

"Best lesson I've seen on YouTube hands down stories and all."

"Jake you are channeling the spirit of the great Albert King with your amazing playing! I predict this video will become the benchmark on how to play this iconic blues tune! Love your stories of your run ins with these blues gods."

"Incredible! Love your style. Most lessons just focus on box 2. You really opened up the whole fretboard with this lesson. Some of these licks are pure killer! Never seen them in any other Albert King lesson. Thank you so much for sharing."

"The definition of a bad ass, swagger, and cool all rolled into one. He is bad and nationwide."

Meet Your Instructor

My name is Jake Andrews and I've been playing guitar seriously since I was 6 years old, starting out my professional career the night I sat in with Albert King at the age of 8 at Antone's in Austin, TX.

I had the great fortune of growing up in the rich music scene here in Austin. My father, John "Toad" Andrews, was the guitarist with the roots/rock band Mother Earth in the 60's and 70's. He he would take me out countless nights as a kid to sit in with and learn directly from the many legends that would often perform here-Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Jimmie Vaughan, BB King, Albert King, Otis Rush, Johnny Winter and Austin musicians such as Doyle Bramhall (Eric Clapton), Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello), Ian Moore, Eric Johnson, and so many more.

By the time I was in my teens I had toured in Europe, was working on recording my first album, and was regularly touring the US, often playing in LA and Memphis at BB King's clubs. My debut album at age 19 on a Warner Brothers subsidiary scored a Top Ten Rock Radio hit with "Time To Burn". Billboard Magazine stated, “Time to Burn’s mix of guitar pyrotechnics, fiery vocals and powerful new songs confirms that Jake Andrews is already blazing new paths with the torch he’s been passed.”

I was named “Breakout Rock Group” in 1999 by R&R (Radio and Records) Magazine. The record was supported with national tours with artists including the Allman Brothers, The Doobie Brothers, Susan Tedeschi, Boz Scaggs and George Thorogood. I've since released five more solo albums, my latest "Train Back Home" debuting #11 on the Billboard Blues Chart in July 2023. I've toured Europe, the US and continue to record in Austin and LA. I've also lent my guitar playing to many recordings by other artists.

In addition to being a working and touring music artist, I have been teaching private guitar lessons with select students for nearly 20 years. I REALLY enjoy working with my students, helping them develop their musical ear, their timing and especially their own improvising skills! To see my students grow and develop brings me an enormous amount of satisfaction. I believe my many years of being a professional music artist AND of teaching bring a unique perspective to my guitar courses which sets me apart from the many other teaching courses out there. Now I want to help YOU to become the greatest Blues/Rock Guitarist you can possibly be!
